Social media has evolved way beyond a platform to just show off pictures from your latest holiday. You can now use it for your business as a SUPER marketing tool.
Every day, more and more businesses are getting involved with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Why? Because social media has turned into one giant marketing platform for businesses across the world.
The jury has spoken: social media for business is no longer optional! Your social media pages will also send traffic back to your website which creates a loop for you to remarket to them and convert them into a buyer.
Even if you aren’t on social media, most of your customers expect you to be. Over 67 percent of consumers now go to social media for customer service.
To help you quickly understand this all works, we’ve created a list of 3 ways YOUR business can use social media to grow and increase leads.
Step 1 – Give potential clients a chance to know you.
You want to give potential clients a great first impression of your business and nothing does that like pictures of new projects being posted every week,
testimonials from past clients about how you helped them and proving overall that you’re an active company that’s great at what you do.
You want people to know that you’re reliable, their business is important to you, and that you’re listening.
People can also recommend your Facebook Page on groups and other pages,
share your latest Tweets and Instagram pics.
This really makes you look good as nothing sells your business more than social proof – recommendations from other people!
Step 2 – Speak to people already interested in your products and services
The internet can be a scary place, but sometimes it can do wonderful things! We can create a Facebook Pixel that will track your website visitors back to Facebook.
Remember, most people are doing research when they first come across your business and won’t be ready to buy – that’s where retargeting comes in. You can put your business right in front of those people again so they don’t forgot you. They’ve already shown interest in what you have to offer so you’ll just be providing them with more reasons to work with you.
You can use these ads to drive potential clients back to your website so they can download your price list, view your products and hopefully request a quote from you, even if it’s a few weeks down the line when they’re ready to buy!
Facebook retargeting is only really effective if you have a lot of traffic going through your website. It’s best to combine with service with Google AdWords.
Step 3 – Be Everywhere!
Having a strong online presence just screams “We’re a serious company”.
Imagine someone Googled your business and found more than just your website…what if they found your Facebook Page, your Twitter Page, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest… the list goes on.
It’s now easier than ever to link all your social media together so it acts as one massive marketing powerhouse. Potential clients can then follow you on their platform of choice and see all the pictures of your new products and projects and share information with you.
It’s also really cheap to run paid promotions to people in your local area to reaffirm your authority in your industry. The goal is to be in front of everyone!
Google also really likes it when you can prove you’re an established business. Building your social media presence and sharing information might even give you a little bump up Google’s ranking.
PRO TIP: The best way to link social media together is to use a tool called IFTTT. It will automatically post your one social media post to every platform you’ve created, saving you hours of having to log into all your different accounts to post some quick pictures.
Now you know the WHY, so get to work on building up your social media presence online.
- Make sure your website is listed on your social media accounts
- Ask clients to leave you 5-star reviews
- Post new pictures of completed projects and happenings within your business.
P.S. Once you’ve started implementing some of these strategies, head over to our other post on how you can convert those potential clients into buyers.
